New video footage surfaced from a 1994 ABC interview where Trump launched into a sexist rant about women.
“I don’t want to sound like a chauvinist, but when I come home and dinner’s not ready I go through the roof!”
While the footage was recorded in 1994, the sexist comments align with a recent Trump tweet defending two White House staffers forced to resign after allegations of domestic abuse surfaced.
Peoples lives are being shattered and destroyed by a mere allegation. Some are true and some are false. Some are old and some are new. There is no recovery for someone falsely accused – life and career are gone. Is there no such thing any longer as Due Process?
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 10, 2018
Trump’s blatant disregard for the gravity of his public statements is shameful. Asserting that alleged victims of domestic abuse are ‘faking it’ after two senior White House officials were forced to resign, is the definition of chauvinism and irresponsible statecraft.
When a man is accused of sexual harassment by over 25 women, and was recorded on tape bragging about being able to do whatever you want to women when you’re a celebrity, is the wrong man to publicly partake in victim shaming.
